Solve Your Frozen Account

Step 1 Talk to the Bank

If your account is blocked, it’s often because your Video KYC (V-KYC) is pending. Don’t wait for them to call you—take the first step yourself.

Have your PAN card and address proof handy for the video call.

For a Debit Freeze, you need to send a clear email explaining your situation. Include your account number and attach your documents.

If the customer care team doesn’t help, make sure to specifically call or email the Nodal Officer—they handle the serious complaints.

Step 2 Use the PG Portal

If the bank ignores your emails or gives you a generic reply, it’s time to involve the government. The PG Portal (Public Grievance Portal) is where you file a complaint that the bank has to answer.

Once you file a complaint here, it goes to the department that oversees banking services. It puts pressure on the bank to review your case manually rather than letting it sit in their system.

Step 3 The Last Hope: RBI

If 30 days have passed since you first complained to the bank and your problem still isn’t fixed, you approach the RBI Ombudsman.

The RBI (Reserve Bank of India) acts as a neutral judge. They have the power to penalize the bank if they have frozen your account without a valid reason or if they aren’t helping you resolve it properly.

Key Tip: You must wait for 30 days. If you complain to the RBI before that, they might reject your case. Make sure to keep screenshots of the emails you sent to the bank as proof.
